While you can create images at the exact sizes shown below, there is some research which shows that by using a common size for both horizontal and vertical images, you can simplify your workflow and make your social media images quicker.
In experimenting with the fastest, easiest way to create images we know will work well in social media feeds, we came across a couple of image sizes that became our go-tos: one size for horizontal (landscape) images and one for vertical (portrait) images.
- Horizontal (landscape) – 1,024 x 512
- Vertical (portrait) – 800 x 1,200
Pretty Nice Huh? Just remember to test these sizes before assuming they will work well anywhere.

The first thing which stands out to most people when it comes to Facebook is the image sizes are rarely displayed a the same large size in which they were created. In fact, Facebook wants it this way so the image can be scaled for any size screen its visitors may use.
