Branding and Authority: The Keys to Online Business Success
One of the biggest hurdles new businesses face is understanding branding, name recognition, authority, etc.; and the power and leverage it brings to your business and its profits.
Since we all have to start our businesses “cold”, it can be a significant challenge to build this into your business.
A few ways to build authority and branding for your new business are:

These are things you should do BEFORE you launch your first product.
When you have authority and branding, your name recognition will help sell your products versus using the Sales page by itself.
Now, there are instances where you might not need this, but it would require some very good Joint Venture Partners and a very good product to start with.
In my case, I started a blog called “Black Hat Software” back in 2003. It gained a lot of traction for me and in just 6 months time I collected over 5000 subscribers to the site without any of the fancy plugins or any real lead generation strategy. My subscriber count was at around 20K within 3 years without it being something I tried to do. My content spoke for itself and then when I finally released my first product called the Auto Blog Blueprint, I did over 1000 sales in the first hour of release without a single JV Partner or anyone promoting for me.
My authority and the relationship I had with the audience on my site and my mailing list did it all.
None of this happens overnight. You must dedicate yourself to the challenge. While having a mailing list sounds great, subscribers mean nothing without a relationship or at least trust. You must build trust by being genuine and providing help.
